  • To be honest, I really am not a keyboard shortcut user. I much prefer to use the mouse. Plus I really kinda hate the whole put the file wherever and search for it later. I'm a little too obsessive compulsive for that. I like to have everything organized and right where I like it.

  • *raises hand* I'm a beryl fan. But I'm not going to pounce. Just poke a little bit. Aero is pretty cool, but beryl is so much better. Both do the neat taskbar preview, and both use similar alt-tabbing previews.

  • Yeah I thought the exact same thing, but don't let that stop you. The OS is great. Definitely give it a try.

  • Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can setup a partition. During the install process, you can run a program called GTParted or something like that and it will allow you to set up a partition and also there's instructions on how to do it and all.

  • Yeah, beryl is amazing. I love the fact that it is so customizable. There are myriads of different effects. Just curious, what decoration manager are you using? I'm using Emerald, which works fine on KDE, but it is designed for gnome.

  • Yeah I think you're Online Apps. Suse uses XGL/Compiz. Beryl is based on that, but is an offshoot of it.

  • Well I have to disagree with you on the XP stability thing. I've been running it since it came out, and on this particular machine for a year and a half and it's only crashed a handful of times in the whole run. I agree with Jak68, if you know what you're doing and take care of XP, it runs great.

  • Well I am glad that you are enjoying your purchase. It would be a shame if you weren't. :-) I'm also glad to hear that it's not as perfect as some people would have you believe. Personally I'm having fun with SimplyMepis. But that's on the complete other end of the spectrum.
